Our Matador Family is committed to :
Building Confident Youth, Stronger Families and Stronger Communities through Wrestling.
Matador Wrestling Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates for charitable, educational and community-benefit purposes. Wrestling is our foundation, our mission extends beyond the mat to represent the sport’s values everyday in our lives.
We believe that strong communities are built when members are supported, barriers are removed and young people have the privilege to see positive models in action. Our Matador Family strives to serve in Yuma and throughout the state providing more free access to resources, mentorship and essential supportive services.
OUR MISSION:
Matador Wrestling Club is committed to serving all community members with an emphasis on youth development and family stability. We show our definition of strength and perseverance on and off the mat by setting a positive example to our youth everyday working diligently to provide free services and support in our community. We work to promote dignity, opportunity and self-sufficiency to every individual we serve.
WHO WE SERVE AND WHY:
Services are open to any Arizona state resident without discrimination. We do not turn anyone away regardless of income, background or personal circumstance. Those considered “higher need” may include families with lower incomes, families with members that have diagnosed chronic illness or disabilities, and military or immigrant households.
Many families face difficult choices between meeting basic needs and accessing opportunities that support physical, emotional, and social development. Youth often lack affordable athletic programs, safe mentorship and positive role models.
Adults may struggle navigating education, employment and existing resources already available to them.
These challenges are not isolated and neither are solutions; Matador wrestling Club exists to help bridge gaps by offering free and accessible services that are rooted in respect, accountability and empathy.
Pictured above is out MWC Donation Box located at the corner of Orange Ave and 8th street, it is in the corner of our facility parking lot and is always open to any donation of clothing, basic necessities and non-perishable foods. It will be checked and emptied regularly and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Community Responsibility:
Our organization believes that the younger generations will best learn values most effectively when they observe the practiced consistently. Matador Wrestling Club integrates service, accountability and integrity into all of our programs to demonstrate community responsibility through direct charitable action.
Wrestling is our main tool for youth development. We offer scholarships to give any child the chance to learn the discipline, accountability and respect the sport teaches to its athletes. Our coaches are well qualified and volunteer to support the next generation’s love for wrestling and hard work.
TUTORING: Available to anyone who needs it, please contact (480)772-9457 to schedule online or in person tutoring. Our scholarship expects recipients to agree to try their best on the mat and perform appropriately in the classroom
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Our members volunteer in our community regularly, contact us if you need help finding or have a desire to volunteer directly with other charities.
